Gearworks is a strategy card game for 1-4 players where you compete to build fantastical steampunk contraptions. It is a puzzle-style game that evokes the feel of Sudoku and features a mix of hand management and area control.

Strategically position your gears to fix a mysterious clockwork machine in the corner of the workshop. Earn mechanical parts produced by the machine and use them to complete your own steampunk creations!

How to Play

1) Play cards

There are two rules:

  • Column color – only one card of each color in a single column.
  • Row order – all numbers in a single row must be in either ascending or descending order.
2) Rotate gears

Claim columns and rows as your own – that is, until your opponents take them away from you!

You may even earn bonus sparks based on where you play your cards.

3) Collect parts & build

Take one part for each column and row that you still control at the end of the round.

​Build contraptions for bonus points! You get one contraption each round, and may also buy more throughout the game.

4) Score points

At the end of three rounds, score points for contraptions you built, unused parts, and sparks.

The player with the most points becomes the master tinkerer!
